![HELLO AND WELCOME TO MY SITE.
My name is Christiane (Jana) and I was born in the year 1967 in Frankfurt, Germany. I came to New York City on a crazy whim in 1991 and through luck and the help of great friends, I was able to become a legal resident in 1992 and to continue living in and experiencing New York.
In the fall of 2004, I finally left the city behind and moved to Long Island with now-husband Steven, Black Lab "Boris da Dog" and cat Ashes; a short while later Skittles the Kitten joined our tiny household. Although it took some time to adjust to life in suburbia, there are many beautiful places out here and each year we can hardly wait until summer arrives.
I have always immensely enjoyed photography, although I often do not have the time (or self discipline) to get out there with my camera as often as I should. SaltyDog Photography serves as the motivation to throw myself into the thick of taking pictures again. My favorite subjects are the ocean or "anything water", as well as the streets and surroundings of New York City.
When not at work or out taking pictures, one can find me in front of my computer learning more and more about digital imaging, curled up in bed with a good book, or flying my kite. But most likely I'll be at the beach throwing rubberball after rubberball for an exuberant Boris until my arm gets tired (the dog never does).
